Tirana, May 7, 2014 - 'Tirana Youth Leadership' in collaboration with 'Human Rights House' and supported by Olof Palme International Center, held today the Forum “Formalising Tirana Youth Leadership Network” .
This Forum as rarely before, brought together 27 organizations/civil society youth groups and 5 youth political forums operating locally. They expressed their desire and commitment to undertake joint actions and initiatives in the interest of all young persons in Tirana, despite their political beliefs, economic and social status, sexual orientation, gender identietit, skills or clusters, in which they belong.
The purpose of the forum was the presentation with all members of 'Tirana Youth Leadership' as well as the signing of the Letter of Engagement with all members of the network, an act that led to the formalization of the youth network.
"Tirana Youth Leadership Platform” is a positive example for all politicians and society as a whole, in terms of the spirit of cooperation between young persons in Tirana" , said Mr. Altin Hazizaj, Executive Director of HRH / CRCA Albania, in his speech. According to him if young persons interact with each other this will be a powerful voice for the interests and priorities of youth in local government as well as in the central one.
Forum was also attended by Mr. Aldrin Dalipi,Chairman of Tirana City Council. He stated " Tirana Youth Leadership” has been and will continue to be a structure and sourcing advisory Council on issues / priorities dealing directly with the youth of the city of Tirana. He expressed his commitment to formalize a Youth Advisory Board near Tirana City Council.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the City Council, the Ministry of Social Welfare and Youth, Media, student, youth, etc.
